AFTER-THE-BELL SURPASSES 8,000-STUDENT MILESTONE!

October 5, 2026 – The Kennett After-School Association is proud to announce that its award-winning After-The-Bell program has now provided after-school services to more than 8,000 students in the Greater Kennett Square area.
“As we welcomed students for our Fall 2026 program cycle, we were thrilled to mark a new milestone at After-The-Bell,” said Executive Director Paola Rosas. “We have now provided safe and meaningful after-school activities to more than 8,000 students since we first opened our doors on January 19, 1999. In fact, we are now up to 8,072!”

The new total includes 226 students who joined After-The-Bell’s Fall 2026 Cycle, which began on September 22 and will run through October 29. Students attending this cycle are enjoying 34 unique and exciting activities, including Future Aviators, Drama Improv, Seafood Cooking, and Longwood Garden Adventures. Activities this fall cover a variety of genres, including STEM, the arts, sports, career-building, and community service.
The milestone occurred as After-The-Bell embarks on a new campaign to raise awareness of the program and the benefits provided to middle school students. The campaign is called A PLACE TO GO. A TIME TO GROW.
“This new campaign speaks to our commitment to welcome all students to a place where they can spend time with friends, make new connections, learn new skills, and possibly develop new passions,” Ms. Rosas continued. “It is also a time for students to expand their horizons and gain confidence about who they are and what they can achieve.”
The Kennett After-School Association is a not-for-profit organization that provides After-The-Bell to all middle school students who reside in the Kennett Consolidated School District. The program is provided at no charge and without government funding. All expenses for the program are paid through foundation grants and private donations from individuals and corporations. While the program receives no funding from KCSD, the district provides the use of Kennett Middle School to run the program during after-school hours.
